- May 14: Exclusive: DAX US and Captivate have announced a new unified monetisation suite for US creators. Captivate creators will gain streamlined access to integrated monetization tools through Captivate’s Ad Marketplace, powered by DAX’s programmatic advertising capabilities. Rob Walch, VP of Podcast Relations, said it was "a meaningful step forward in simplifying podcast monetization for creators".
- Apr 27: The deal would force the hand of the UK's Global (the owner of DAX and Captivate). In 2020, the FCC allowed iHeartMedia to be 100% foreign-owned; and through its investment arm, Global owns 32% of iHeartMedia. On Mar 5 this year, the FCC allowed an application from iHeartMedia that Bahamas-based Global Media & Entertainment Investments Ltd’s shares could be transferred to the UK-based Global Media Investments Limited.
- Mar 25: DAX US has named John Sardelis as SVP of Podcasts. He joins from Barometer, BBC Studios and Warner Bros Discovery. "John will now oversee DAX’s podcast sales efforts and support the company’s continued growth in the digital audio marketplace."
- Mar 16: DAX US has hired Jennifer Tang as SVP, Programmatic. She joins from Spotify, where she was Director of US Automation Sales.
- Feb 19: Global, which owns radio and podcast companies including Captivate in the UK and ad exchange DAX, has launched its Global Player app directly in cars, through Android Automotive. It means that podcasts and radio stations are available in cars from BMW, MINI Volvo, Polestar, Renault and Nissan - without fiddling with your phone. The app includes many third-party podcasts; indeed, you can enjoy our daily podcast update directly on Global Player.
