- Mar 28: Pod_Scope calculates downloads via server logs using rules from an outdated version of the IAB Podcast Guidelines. It measures participating publishers only, hosted on either Triton Digital’s Omny Studio, or Bauer Media’s Podplay. The public broadcaster RTP is one of the publishers that is not taking part.

.com has achieved IAB Podcast Measurement Guidelines v2.2 compliance. It’s the first time the company has gained certification. - Mar 18: Edison Research has launched a Download Metrics service, partnering with SoundStack. Edison says that the service works alongside its Edison Podcast Metrics survey to “provide deeper information to subscribers, especially for smaller and short-run shows”. The solution is IAB v2.2 compliant.
- Mar 5: Congratulations to iHeart’s Spreaker, Voxnest and Triton Digital, as well as Audiorella, who all achieved IAB Podcast Measurement Guideline v2.2 compliance today. iHeart’s Omny Studio gained certification at the end of last month. That means that IAB certification is now up to date for all major participating podcast hosts. Spotify for Creators stopped participating in Apr 2024, though Spotify’s enterprise host Megaphone recertified in Aug 2024.
- Mar 4: Our mysterious 20x podcast download increase continues. (All would be IAB certified downloads, though. So, well done us.) We’ve made some changes to the audio quality of our AAC file in order to manage costs.
