Speaking in the Podcasting 2.0 podcast this week, Adam Curry and Dave Jones said they'd close the Podcast Index "lightning node" since it was costing more to run than it earned, and urged podcasters to focus on a clean, simple method of support using the
podcast:fundingtag. As of today, Podnews has a simple, clean payment page, via Stripe linked from our RSS feed's funding tag. - May 11: The Podcast Index has published a page detailing all the open public datasets available from the project. Great for researchers, developers, or anyone wanting to understand the podcast space, they're all free.
- May 4: The Podcast Index has launched a new API endpoint to allow podcast apps to upload the number of total followers of a feed, to enable better recommendations for all.
