- May 12: iHeartMedia released its Q1/26 financial report. Podcast revenue was $147mn, up 27% year-on-year (and above guidance from the company). Podcasting represents 16.6% of the company's revenue - around 50% of podcast revenue came from iHeart's 1000+ local sales force, Bob Pittman noted in the earnings call. He also said that iHeart is the #1 podcast network according to both Podtrac and Triton - neglecting to mention that Triton is owned by iHeart.
- May 8: Podtrac has published its April 2026 podcast rankers. The Volume is a new publisher.
- Apr 15: The Podcast Index New Feeds Report also shows that Inception Point AI released 325 new shows on Tuesday: almost one-in-five of all new shows on that day. Hosted by Spreaker and monitored by Podtrac, it's unclear how many Inception Point AI shows have been produced, since the Podcast Index appears to sporadically remove them from its index; we count more than 8,000 still there.
- Apr 9: Podtrac released its March rankers. Publishers were up month-on-month (February has 28 days and March 31, so you'd hope so); but many publishers are down year-on-year. Versant is a new publisher to the rankings, at #13.
- Mar 20: Podtrac published its global multi-channel podcast ranking for February. The MeidasTouch Podcast is still #1, but The Rest is History has jumped up to third place.
