The Society of Editors in the UK have launched the News Podcast Awards 2026, "the first UK awards dedicated exclusively to recognising excellence in news podcast journalism". They're free to enter; there doesn't appear to be any requirement that they're from the UK. ... Joe Rogan says that he didn't win a Golden Globes award for his podcast because he didn't want to spend $500 on the entry fee. “You can’t tell me I didn’t win. I’ve been number one for six years in a row,” said Rogan, who didn't win.
- Sep 19, 2024: In the US, podcasts are the most trusted media source for registered voters - beating newspapers, TV, AM/FM radio or social media. That’s according to new research from Voxtopica - which also says that 63% of registered voters say that podcasts change their opinions on issues or topics in the news. Nearly half of all registered voters in the US listen to podcasts each week.
