🌲 About Pine Forest Media Pine Forest Media is a podcast production company dedicated to telling stories at the intersection of environmental science and society. We specialize in thoughtful, narrative-rich audio series that explore critical topics like plastic pollution, ocean health, drinking water systems, climate change, biodiversity, and more. Our shows have reached listeners in over 100 countries and recently received an Honorable Mention from the Webby Awards.
As a small, mission-driven team, we’re looking for passionate individuals who care about environmental issues and want to grow their skills in science communication and podcasting.
🌿 About the Internship This is an entry-level, unpaid internship designed for someone curious about podcast production and environmental storytelling. Experience is helpful but not required — we’re happy to train interns in any area of interest and help build a meaningful portfolio of work.
You’ll have the chance to explore different aspects of podcast production depending on your skills, interests, and availability. The internship is remote, flexible, and collaborative.
🛠️ What You Might Work On We’ll tailor the internship to your strengths and goals. Tasks may fall under one or more of the following categories:
🎧 1) Technical Production
- Assisting with audio editing (training provided)
- Organizing and editing transcripts
- Helping prepare episodes for distribution
- Learning about sound design and audio software
📚 2) Content & Research
- Conducting background research for episodes
- Helping identify and prepare guest interviewees
- Drafting interview questions or episode scripts
- Brainstorming new podcast ideas and episode angles
- Writing social media captions, blog posts, or promotional articles
📢 3) Promotion & Outreach
- Assisting with social media content using tools like Canva
- Helping schedule ad swaps or feed swaps with other podcasts
- Reaching out to potential press or partner organizations
- Supporting podcast launches and growth campaigns
