A full time position
Fully remote: working with a New Zealand-based team at Supermix .

Supermix

Supermix is the team behind the world’s biggest tech and startup podcasts. We handle podcast editing, marketing and strategy, so the hosts can focus on what they do best – sharing their expertise.

You can see some of our customers and content at www.supermix.io. We love the podcasts we produce and we learn from them constantly. It’s like getting paid to study the best minds in tech.

Our team is small, remote and tight-knit. We all care about doing great work and everyone collaborates with everyone, including the co-founders (Zac and Xavier). We strive for everything we do to “just make sense.” If something’s clunky, we fix it. If there’s a smarter way, we find it. We lay good tracks so everyone can drive smoothly.

The role

As a Podcast Video Editor, you’ll execute a lot of the post-production editing for podcast and video content. Working closely with a Content Lead who will provide you direction, you’ll turn raw recordings into fully polished podcast episodes.

What you’ll do

  1. Improve speaker audio
    • Adapting and applying presets from AI audio tools (like Auphonic) to make speakers sound great.
  2. Offline editing
    • Cutting unwanted content, words and dead-air throughout a podcast conversation.
  3. Online editing
    • Bringing the polished episode together by combining the “offline edit” with other elements like host introductions, intro/outro animations, theme music, and more.
  4. As-needed production support
    • Helping execute the many details needed for polished final videos, including reviews, retrieving files, fixing transcripts, and more.

Skills you MUST have

If you have these skills, we can coach you to great success in the role and podcasting:

  1. Basic experience with Premiere Pro
    • Comfortable using basic features quickly, e.g setting up projects/files, changing export/import settings, making cuts, creating simple transitions.
  2. Attention-to-detail
    • Consistent commitment to following process and sweating details.
  3. Good visual and audible taste
    • Strong feel for what looks good and sounds good.

Skills we can train you on

So long as you bring the MUST have skills above, we can train you on the rest, including:

  1. Using best-in-class audio tools (like Auphonic) to make speakers sound great.
  2. Using Descript for offline editing.
  3. Deciding what/where/how to make edits and cuts in a podcast (our approach to “offline editing”).

If you already have these skills, that’s a bonus.
