Associate Producer
A project or contract position
Fully remote: working with a USA-based team at Talking Feds.
Salary range: $25.00 to $32.99 (hourly rate) - subject to experience
Talking Feds, a podcast and YouTube channel known especially for it's high level legal and political discussions seeks an Associate Producer.
The podcast publishes twice a week. Its episodes typically focus on current events, but it also does occasional topical discussions, such as recent ones on fentanyl, Big Agriculture, public education, and the loneliness epidemic.
The guests tend to be among the most well-known members of government, law, and journalism. The producer and host of the podcast is former US Attorney and LA Times legal affairs columnist Harry Litman.
We’re looking to hire a part-time (~20 hrs/week) Associate Producer.
Tasks for the Associte Producer include:
- Help with guest booking and episode prep for our 1-on-1 series
- Curating Youtube video topics and structure for our Youtube channel of over 278k subscribers
- Creating and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with other podcasts in our genre
- Facilitating “ad swaps” with these podcasts
- Creating a weekly newsletter, posting regularly on our social media channels, and promoting growth on our primary platforms (Youtube, Twitter, and Patreon)
- Facilitating outreach to potential podcast sponsors
- Updating the Talking Feds website on a weekly basis
- Creating marketing plans to promote special events (including posting schedule, draft posts, social media graphics, etc.)
- Attending weekly meetings with the Talking Feds team
- Overseeing social media channels
- Facilitating outreach to TV news producers on a weekly basis (emails will be pre-written by Harry Litman)
- Continuously growing Talking Feds’ various platforms and audience
- Actively searching for new and unique ways to spread the word about talking Feds’ various ventures
