A full time position
Fully remote: working with a USA-based team at The Lever.
Salary range: $75,000 to $95,000 (yearly rate) - subject to experience plus health care stipend, office expense reimbursements, and paid time off.
About The Lever: The Lever is a reader-supported investigative news outlet dedicated to following the money and holding the powerful accountable. Founded in 2020 by journalist David Sirota and a team of reporters, The Lever has attracted a robust following thanks to its in-depth investigations and uncompromising analyses of matters related to politics, business corruption, climate change, health care, and more. With its fast-growing subscribership, The Lever is building a news organization devoted to holding power accountable.
The Position: The Lever is looking for an experienced and enterprising podcast director to helm its flagship political podcast Lever Time, taking the award-winning production to the next level. Supervising and working closely with The Lever’s associate podcast producers, the podcast director will help develop, implement, and manage Lever Time’s weekly production schedule, integrating a mixture of reported feature episodes, chat shows, and subscriber-only bonus content. The podcast director will be overseen by the managing editor and will be responsible for all aspects of Lever Time (and other future weekly shows as they are added), including editorial content, audio audience growth, and marketing. The director could be a co-host and/or a recurring voice on the flagship podcast.
The right candidate will build on Lever Time’s legacy of success, bringing its unique mix of exclusive reporting, high-profile guests, and expert analysis to a much wider audience. The podcast director will work closely with our special projects director and marketing manager to expand our broader podcast network and develop our podcast sponsorship program. This is a fully remote and full-time, salaried position with benefits including a generous health care stipend, office expense reimbursements, and paid time off.
