Una coppia alto borghese, un dermatologo di fama nazionale, una moglie radiosa e altruista stritolata in un matrimonio che la scolorisce. L’impalcatura traballante della famiglia patinata è destinata però presto a cadere: Giulia Ballestri viene uccisa con ferocia dal marito narcisista e possessivo da cui aveva deciso di separarsi. La storia di Giulia è la storia di un femminicidio avvenuto in un contesto la cui patina dorata celava strati di violenza e sopraffazione. E che proprio per questo racconta come il femminicidio sia un fenomeno sociale, culturale e psicologico che può trovare linfa in ambienti insospettabili.
