This article is at least a year old
Award-winning actor, writer and director Alan Alda has been an ever-present fixture on both the small screen and the silver screen for the better half of the last century. His signature wry wit and charm has endeared him to multiple generations of fans – from those who knew him best as Hawkeye Pierce on the classic TV series MAS*H to his Academy Award-nominated performance opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in the film “The Aviator,” and his celebrated performances on shows like “30 Rock” and “The Blacklist.”
Alda’s transcendent appeal and ability to connect with others lies at the heart of his new podcast, Clear+Vivid™ with Alan Alda in which Alda interviews prominent people across all industries who are experts at influencing and relating to others. The show will launch in association with Midroll Media on July 10.
“Clear+Vivid™” is a series of Alan Alda’s spirited conversations with people who know how hard it is, and yet how good it feels, to really connect with other people – whether it’s one person, an audience or a whole country.
Guests this season include Sarah Silverman (“I Love You America” on Hulu) on enjoying people you don’t agree with, Judge Judy on how to figure out who is telling the truth, violinist/composer Itzhak Perlman on the spontaneity and connection of performance, Tina Fey (“30 Rock,” Mean Girls on Broadway) on the transformative power of improv, Cheryl Strayed (Wild, “Dear Sugars”) on how to give advice, Senator George Mitchell on bringing together enemies, and much more.
On July 11 Alda will share what he has learned throughout his life and career about how we communicate with one another and what we can expect from his new podcast at a special National Press Club Headliners Event. The event begins at 6pm. The National Press Club is located on the 13th Floor of the National Press Building at 529 14th St., NW, Washington, D.C.
“Clear+Vivid™” will be available for free through Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, on his official web site at AlanAlda.com, and all platforms where listeners access podcasts.
