Luminary to launch British Villains podcast - an insider look at the Great Train Robbery

New York, NY, October 6, 2020 - Luminary, a subscription podcast network, announced today the launch of British Villains, a compelling new podcast documenting England’s Great Train Robbery of 1963. With plenty of thick South London accents, British Villains is a humorous and engaging evaluation of the historic robbery and UK crime culture.
In British Villains, a Luminary Original series, host William Green - a Brit with an inside story to share - tells the intricate tale of the legendary 1963 heist and the evolution of the modern London villain through the lives of people connected to or directly impacted by the crime, including Green himself. The Great Train Robbery remains the most famous and widely-told crime story in Britain, but this podcast promises to reveal new information and intimate accounts from the last remaining gatekeepers of the event.
The episodes of British Villains feature interviews that chart the planning, execution and fallout of the Great Train Robbery as well as first-person tales of lesser known true life capers that shine a light on UK crime culture, including the introduction of guns and drugs, and how it has changed over time.
British Villains is executive produced by William Green and Aaron Ginsburg at The Cut, Jimmy Miller and Hans Sahni at Ninth Planet Audio, and Ben Adair at Western Sound. The series is written by Rosecrans Baldwin and Vanessa Sadler.
