CBC Launches New Winter 2026 Podcast Slate

Press Release · Vancouver BC, Canada · via CBC Radio-Canada ·

CBC, the #1 Canadian podcaster, is launching a new winter slate of original podcasts, featuring in-depth investigations, candid personal revelations, and informed debriefs on the biggest stories in politics. CBC’s entire podcast collection can be found on CBC Listen and everywhere podcasts are available. Select titles can also be streamed on YouTube.

  • Two Blocks from the White House (Ongoing, weekly) Launches January 14 everywhere podcasts are available. American politics, Canadian context. Every Wednesday, veteran reporters Paul Hunter and Katie Simpson sit down with their colleagues at CBC News’ Washington Bureau to talk through the big stories in the U.S. capitol and ask the question: what does this mean for Canada? Unscripted, smart analysis from reporters with a foot in both countries, and a press pass to the White House.
  • Hunting the Suicide Salesman (5 episodes) Launches January 19 everywhere podcasts are available. Following the critically acclaimed series Hunting Warhead, season 2 follows host Daemon Fairless as he focuses on another dark corner of the internet: suicide. When people around the world started killing themselves with a strange new substance, police were initially unable to help. But thanks to a group of grieving loved ones, and intrepid journalists, the substance was tracked back to an online suicide forum, and a private seller, based in Canada. Now, Kenneth Law is about to go on trial for fourteen counts of first degree murder. And that might just be the tip of the iceberg. Police around the world have connected him to at least 110 more deaths in Canada, the U.K., the U.S., Australia and beyond. For years, Law sent packages around the world – to 1,200 people in 41 different countries. If convicted, he would be the first of a different kind of serial killer – one who never met his victims. But despite all of that, Law was just a small player in a much larger online ecosystem.
  • Personally Creation Myth (8 episodes) Launches February 10 everywhere podcasts are available. Helena de Groot does not want kids. Her husband believes she’ll change her mind—she has so much love to give, she would be a perfect mother. That will never happen, she tells him. Again. And again. Until one day, he leaves. In the silence, doubt starts rushing in. So she asks her close friends, her mother, her sister, even a perfect stranger—did she make the right decision? What is the purpose of life? Centre your pleasure, says one friend. Go for adventures, says another, and isn’t parenthood the biggest adventure of all? Be true to yourself, says a father who regrets his decision. But the voice she needs to hear most is her own.
  • Understood Mr. Deepfakes (4 episodes) Launches February 17 everywhere podcasts are available. The porn is fake. The fallout is real. Deepfake porn is a billion-click industry built on stolen faces, while the people making it hide theirs behind screens. Hosted by journalist Sam Cole, Understood: Mr. Deepfakes traces the decades-long rise of synthetic porn, the targets who are fighting back, and the global investigation that led to its Canadian kingpin.
  • Uncover The Cult Queen of Canada (6 episodes) Launches February 23 everywhere podcasts are available. In a quaint rural Saskatchewan village of less than 200 people, the sudden arrival of a dangerous and erratic cult leader shatters the peace by taking over an abandoned school. The leader, Romana Didulo, is the self-proclaimed Queen of Canada — and a key figure of the country’s QAnon scene. While Didulo sets down roots in Richmound, local residents are desperate to kick the cult out of their beloved town by any means necessary. Hosted by award-winning investigative journalist Rachel Browne, this season of Uncover follows Shauna Shen, ringleader of the town’s anti-cult movement and Melinda Fischer, a local busybody who becomes the cult’s “Minister of International Affairs.” Over the course of six episodes, listeners learn about the Queen of Canada’s trail of destruction, the untold decades of turmoil in a tiny town, and follow the civic election that could change everything.
  • Someone Knows Something: Ferland (6 episodes) Launches March 9 everywhere podcasts are available. Jaclyn Smith Ferland was an active, social Canadian 40-year-old living in Costa Rica with her husband in the summer of 2021. She left the house on foot in August after an argument and hasn’t been seen since. There are next to no leads, despite site searches and RCMP involvement. In season 10 of Someone Knows Something, host David Ridgen ventures to Central America to launch his own investigation into Jaclyn’s mysterious and troubling disappearance.

CBC’s winter 2026 podcast season also includes the return of the weekly series PlayME, where bold theatre meets cutting-edge drama, with each episode drawing listeners into captivating stories brought to life by top actors, acclaimed writers, and cinematic sound design that places them at the centre of the action.

CBC’s ongoing podcasts also include: Commotion with Elamin Abdelmahmoud, The Dose, Front Burner, Q with Tom Power, Sickboy, and more.

CBC offers a richly diverse collection of award-winning podcasts that engage, enlighten and entertain. CBC is the #1 Canadian podcaster, reaching more Canadians than any other podcast publisher with millions of downloads each month and more than 45 series in genres such as true crime, comedy, human interest and audio fiction.
