The hit BBC World Service and NRK podcast Death in Ice Valley is returning with its first live episode, which is being recorded in Norway, close to where the story that led to the podcast began.
Death in Ice Valley has had millions of downloads around the world and became the most successful new podcast that the BBC has been involved with. It is an investigation into the identity of a woman whose body was discovered in Isdalen Valley (Ice Valley) in 1970.
Episode 11 of the series will bring listeners up to date with the investigation – especially the leads that have come from listeners themselves around the world. Thousands have been helping by examining evidence in the _Death in Ice Valley_Facebook group and others have independently started their own efforts to dig into the case.
And recorded live in Bergen, presenters Marit Higraff and Neil McCarthy will be answering questions from the audience. They’ll be joined by special guests, crime writer Gunnar Staalesen, forensic pathologist Inge Morild and Nils Jarle Gjøvåg from the Bergen Police.
And Phil Channell, the man behind the series’ much loved dramatic soundscape, will be performing live.
Episode 11 of Death in Ice Valley will be available on most podcast platforms, as well as on the BBC Sounds app in the UK.
