New York NY, USA—Phil McGraw, host of the No. 1 daytime talk show “Dr. Phil,” today announced “Analysis of Murder,”a new true crime podcast he’ll premiere April 25 with industry leader Stitcher.
The “Analysis of Murder” launch is the second show Dr. Phil has premiered with Stitcher this year, as part of his ongoing partnership with the top podcast company to launch new shows throughout 2019.
In this groundbreaking true crime series, listeners will travel inside the minds of the nation’s most notorious murderers through exclusive interviews guided by the expert forensic analysis of Dr. Phil.
The first season of the show focuses on the case of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, mastermind of the revenge killing of her abusive mother Dee Dee Blanchard, who suffered from a disorder known as Munchausen Syndrome by proxy. The events of this case have recently received attention with the release of Hulu’s “The Act.” Dr. Phil conducts a riveting, no holds barred prison interview with Gypsy Rose while she is serving her sentence for her role in the bizarre and brutal murder of her mother.
The first of McGraw’s shows with Stitcher, “Phil in the Blanks,” introduced fans of “Dr. Phil” to a new side of America’s Doctor as he delves into the minds of the most interesting and accomplished people in the world today. The show launched on Stitcher and all podcast listening platforms earlier this year, quickly reaching #1 on the iTunes charts.
Now in its 17th season, the award-winning “Dr. Phil” continues to provide a comprehensive forum on mental health issues to daytime audiences nationwide. For his podcast, McGraw takes that same relatable approach, making complicated and technical information accessible and understandable to listeners.
In addition to “Analysis of Murder” and “Phil in the Blanks,” McGraw will partner with Stitcher to launch twomore shows in 2019. Midroll will represent all of McGraw’s podcasts for advertising.
The partnership with McGraw builds on Stitcher’s momentum as being the podcast industry partner of choice for major Hollywood personalities looking to enter the podcast space. Stitcher and Midroll have also struck recent deals with Conan O’Brien and Jonathan Van Ness and have renewed their advertising partnership with Oprah’s OWN network, which includes the hit podcasts “SuperSoul Sunday” and “MasterClass.”
