FEELING MY FLO’s pilot episode features a sixteen-year-old named Lola, who uses the pronouns she/her, and was the last one in her group of close friends to get her period. We hear Lola reflect on what it was like to wait for that first period and the support she received from her mother and friends. We also hear research on why some people are late bloomers and others aren’t. Subsequent episodes will highlight a trans and nonbinary period activist’s work for representation, two gay dads navigating their daughters’ first periods, and young people active in the fight against period poverty.

The team behind FEELING MY FLO is twenty-three-year-old host Kamilah Kashanie, who graduated from Brooklyn College, where she studied broadcast journalism and sociology. The show was co-created by veterans in the audio industry, with Mia Warren as Executive Producer and Juleyka Lantigua-Williams as Executive Editor.

“We are thrilled to create content to inform, entertain, and empower tweens and teens,” Lantigua-Willams says. “This generation is intellectually curious, so each of our 10-12 minute episodes will be fun, engaging, intimate, and probing.”

“Each episode of FEELING MY FLO will explore a different menstruator’s journey,” says Warren. “Our team is excited to engage with a young audience interested in exploring the complexity of menstruation – and we know this is just the beginning of the conversation.”

FEELING MY FLO aims to build a community around a transformational experience that happens to all types of bodies and has a significant impact on so many people’s lives.
