Two-time Olympian turned broadcaster and author Aimee Fuller is to host the new series of The National Lottery’s award-winning podcast which has been rebranded as Game Changers.

Produced by multi-award-winning podcast agency, Listen, this extra special series celebrates the 30th birthday of The National Lottery, as Aimee travels the UK to hear from exceptional individuals who have changed the game with the help of National Lottery funding.

Aimee will share the stories of eight remarkable people from all walks of life across the UK, with some special guest appearances from the likes of actor Sir Tony Robinson, broadcaster Claire Balding and DJ Adele Roberts.

In addition, expect to hear about a music initiative providing a launchpad for artists like chart- topper Rizzle Kicks and supported by Rag ‘N’ Bone Man. There’s also Alice Dearing, the first black woman to swim for Team GB at an Olympic Games. Meanwhile, at Jodrell Bank the universe is revealed in bold new ways to the public with the help of a pioneering physicist and remarkable things also emerge from the earth thanks to the brains behind the Eden Project. And what links them all is they have been supported by National Lottery players who raise £30 million for good causes throughout the UK.

Aimee Fuller, who also hosts her own podcast the Monday Mile, said: “Over the last 30 years, The National Lottery has helped change the game across the UK. It has been a pleasure to discover the inspiration and motivation behind some of the wonderful people who have done extraordinary things with the support of National Lottery funding.

“From physicists to visionary thinkers and Grammy winners to Olympians, this 30th birthday series of The National Lottery’s Game Changers podcast has it all.

“And as a former elite athlete, I’ve been fortunate to benefit directly from National Lottery funding and have seen how it has helped us bring home medals galore from Olympic and Paralympic games.

“In this series, I will be meeting some seriously impressive people who have been making their mark in all aspects of life across the UK and catching-up with some familiar faces to find out how National Lottery funding has empowered them to turn their dreams into reality.

“I hope you can join me on this amazing game changing journey”

Jonathan Tuchner, from The National Lottery, added: “National Lottery players have been changing lives every day for the last 30 years, raising £30 million pounds each week for good causes.

“National Lottery players should be extremely proud to have supported the fantastic people and their projects who feature in Game Changers.

“These are just a snapshot of the life-changing activities taking place over the last three decades in all corners of the UK supported by The National Lottery.”

Game Changers is produced by the multi-award-winning podcast production company, Listen.
