The nomination window is open now until December for a podcasting award program, officials said. It is presented by Podbean and sponsored by Listen Notes.

People can now submit their favorite shows to be considered for a Golden Crane Podcast Award to be given out by the Asian American Podcasters Association (AAP) in December, co-founder Andrew Wang confirmed. “We feel that winning a Golden Crane Award will further increase the visibility of Asian American and other winning podcasters worldwide -- including kid podcasters.”

Submissions will be accepted from November 21, 2020 until December 4, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. (PST), Wang said. Categories include Best Sound Design, Best Editing, General Excellence in Reporting, Best Food Show, Best Interview Skills, Best Coverage of Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Issues, Best Example of Community Outreach, Best Coverage of COVID-Related Issues, Best Coverage of Racial Issues, Best Comedy Show, Best Student Show (Elementary School), Best Student Show (Middle School), and Best Student Show (High School), and the AAP Valuable Member Award.

“We are the only awards show to acknowledge the youngest members in the podcasting industry, and cannot wait to see the entries,” co-founder Lee Uehara said. “There are many kid podcasters out there, and we want to make sure they’re highlighted, too.” Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of judges in the fields of podcasting and journalism including strategist Joon Han and Rahul Bali, the head of AAJA’s (Asian American Journalism Association) Radio and Podcasting division.

Winners of the Golden Cranes will be announced in a live ceremony on December 29, 2020 via the Podbean app For more info: http://www.aapodcasters.org
