Kristen DiMercurio joins the cast of Greater Boston in season three premiere

Boston MA, USA—Greater Boston, GreaterBostonShow.com, is pleased to announce that voice actress Kristen DiMercurio, fresh off her starring role in the recently completed hit audio drama arsPardoxica, now joins the regular cast of Greater Boston for the show’s third season premiere episode “But Perhaps There Is a Key,” which airs September 4th. DiMercurio takes on the role of an aspiring actress filming a low-budget reality TV show in the Boston area—a show that quickly fixates on a pair of familiar characters.

“We are so excited to have Kristen DiMercurio join our cast,” said series co-creator Jeff Van Dreason. “She’s one of our favorite actresses and, as anyone who has listened to her voice acting or has seen her perform can attest, her talent and ability are undeniable and astonishing. We created this… unique and specific new character for season three, and when I started writing their dialogue, for some reason, they spoke in Kristen’s voice. So we are honored that Kristen agreed to become Greater Boston’s latest resident.”

Greater Boston is a full-cast cast audio drama podcast set in the Boston metro area, blending factual history with a fantastical alternate reality, quirky humor with stirring pathos. This third season will add new characters while continuing there series’ distinctive mix of satirical social and political commentary as the story develops. This season sees the conclusion of a contentious mayoral campaign that pits candidate Isabelle Powell’s message of racial justice against Emily Bespin’s self-serving showmanship. The outcome will have profound repercussions for the newly-formed subway city of Red Line.

The Greater Boston project is co-created and produced by Cambridge, MA residents and writers, Alexander Danner and Jeff Van Dreason. The audio drama has received nearly 300,000 downloads, and has been praised by critics and fans alike, as well as by audio fiction luminary Joseph Fink (Welcome to Night Vale), who commented, “The performances and music are good right from the start.
