Back to the Future: IPR Radio launches
This article is at least a year old
Malmö, Sweden—IPR Radio is a new musical podcast station designed specifically around talented singer songwriters and indie artists from around the world.
IPR Radio is an english language station based in Sweden. Programming format is in series format. IPR presents those multitalented singer songwriters, and indie artists from around the would. Yes those you may have seen busking in Paris, Lisbon or Berlin. We present their music, and their thoughts and dreams in interesting interview formats.
IPR Radio’s goal is to present those artists that never seem to get that break on traditional mainstream radio, Though its been a task planning the station, in one way the Corona epidemic has made things a little easier for us when getting in touch with all the artists worldwide. Mainly because they’ve all been stuck at home! says George Godfrey founder of IPR.
Our presentation is what we call “Back to the Future”, those who were around in 1970’s Britain remember the sounds of BBC Radio 1 and 2, their presentation was a lot easier going then in its form, good intro’s and good music. Thats what IPR Radio is returning to. Simplicity is the word. Our programming is fresh with new talent, we have no big bells and whistles to blast out, only pure talent and great music and a presentation which hopefully goes down well with all ages.
Our audience target is around 30 years old upwards, so quite wide, but research and testing has shown that the format we are presenting works, the artists and the music played is quality and thats what listeners want. Music publishers and management companies are also getting onboard, Rola Music in the USA and Germany are sending their new artists info, the same with Wow and Flutter Music in the UK.
“We are not pressed to a playlist, and this gives the freedom to find new radio talent and play tracks you would otherwise never hear” says producer George Godfrey.
Gerry Edwards, CEO of Londons Podcast Radio, called George the possible “John Peel of indie folk music”. “Now how flattering is that?” says George.
