UK audiobook charity launches new literature podcast

Listening Books is debuting their first episode of Voluminous on 10th October 2018. The charity’s podcast is starting with a six episode series that looks at literature with an audio slant. The show will cover a wide range of topics such as why do some books make us cry, why Mary Shelley would make a great goth, how the Man Booker Prize remains relevant today and why Charles Dickens would have definitely recorded all his own audiobooks.
Voluminous was started by Listening Books to showcase that audiobooks are just as important as print and can offer different perspectives to true classics. While Listening Books has over 50,000 members for its audiobook service across the UK, the podcast is for everyone who loves to listen to their literature. The podcast producer and host for series one, Jessica Stone, said, “We really wanted to reach out to a wider audience to bring together those who need audiobooks as a way to access books as well as those who just enjoy listening.”
The podcast can be found on all podcast apps including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Acast and Radiopublic.
Listening Books is a UK audiobook charity that provides audiobooks to anyone who struggles to read print due to an illness, disability, learning difficulty or a mental health issue. To find out about our service, go to our website.
