Atlanta GA, USA—Tenderfoot TV, the award winning Atlanta-based content creation company that’s garnered over 500 million downloads for its viral podcasts, announced today two of its upcoming new shows and season two of Neil Strauss’s hit series, TO LIVE AND DIE IN LA. The company, which has helped crack criminal cases through its true crime podcasts, will explore topics at the intersection of not only crime and sport, but also crime and music.

The upcoming releases, all produced in partnership with Cadence 13, include WHISTLEBLOWER, DEAD AND GONE, and season two of the recent Webby-awarding winning series TO LIVE AND DIE IN LA .

WHISTLEBLOWER, of particular interest to sports enthusiasts, dissects the culture of the National Basketball Association through the lens of the 2007 NBA betting scandal, which resulted in NBA referee Tim Donaghy going to federal prison for betting on games he had officiated. After gaining worldwide attention, the scandal seemed to disappear overnight. DEAD AND GONE, the newest from “Disgraceland” host Jake Brennan, chronicles the stories of Grateful Dead fans who have mysteriously died or gone missing over the past five decades. After receiving critical acclaim and recognition while dominating the podcast charts in season one, the new season of TO LIVE AND DIE IN LA follows host Neil Strauss as he dives into a new missing persons case in Los Angeles.

Additional details on each podcast below:

WHISTLEBLOWER — In 2007, an NBA referee, a gambler, and a middleman were arrested on charges relating to a mob-backed betting scheme. Throughout the season, host and sports journalist Tim Livingston will discover the truth of the FBI investigation and explore NBA culture, integrating real-time reporting with a reconstruction of the case and the crimes.

DEAD AND GONE — Over the past five decades, many Grateful Dead fans have mysteriously died or gone missing, even as recent as 2019. Co-hosted by creator and host of hit podcast “Disgraceland” Jake Brennan, as well as “Up and Vanished” host and creator, Payne Lindsey, the series will investigate and tell the stories of the tragedies that have befallen Dead Heads across the country.

TO LIVE AND DIE IN LA Season 2 — New York Times best selling author Neil Strauss will return to the mic with the story of another Hollywood missing person mystery. Season one examined the disappearance of 25-year old actress and model Adea Shabani, who vanished from her Hollywood apartment in February 2018. After uncovering new evidence in her case, the series hit No. 1 on the Apple Podcasts charts, received a Webby Award for Best Podcast in the Crime and Justice category, and was named Associated Press’ Top Podcast of 2019. Season Two will continue to explore mysteries within the Hollywood world, this time focusing on a new missing persons case set in another subculture of LA.

“Music and sports are two new avenues that we’ve been looking forward to covering for some time now. Our listeners can expect the same immersive listening experience that they’ve become accustomed to in our classic true crime shows." said Donald Albright, president of Tenderfoot TV. "Not only are we expanding our show offerings and introducing new hosts, but we’re excited to bring back our biggest success of 2019, 'To Live and Die in LA’. With hosts like Jake, Tim, and Neil, listeners are getting the best of the best.”

“C13 is all about the hit business, and being aligned with some of the most impactful cultural shows and creators,” said Chris Corcoran, Chief Content Officer, Cadence13. “TenderfootTV continues to lead the industry in the true crime genre, and this next round of stories are going to be among the most compelling yet.”

All three series will debut throughout 2020 into 2021. Most recently, Tenderfoot released three new podcasts, all available now. “Somebody,” co-produced with the Invisible Institute, Topic Studios, and The Intercept, documents a mother’s quest to find out what happened to her son, who was discovered outside a Chicago police station with a fatal bullet wound in 2016. In addition, Tenderfoot debuted a one-episode scripted special, “Looking For LaToya,” produced in partnership with Issa Rae’s label Raedio and HBO and based off INSECURE’s show-within-a-show of the same name. Earlier this month, the company dropped the newest season of Payne Lindsey’s semi scripted anthology podcast “Radio Rental,” featuring Rainn Wilson and chronicling stories of the paranormal.
