NBC News Teams up with Megaphone for Podcast Distribution

New York NY, US—Megaphone announced April 9 that NBC News Group, the news division of NBCUniversal, will move its marquee podcasting network to Megaphone’s hosting and ad insertion platform. As part of the new relationship, NBC News will use Megaphone’s industry-leading distribution, content management, measurement, and monetization features for all of its podcast programming. The current list of podcasts and showcasts includes The Rachel Maddow Show, Bag Man, Why Is This Happening? With Chris Hayes NBC’s Meet the Press, The Chuck Toddcast, Hardball with Chris Matthews, NBC Nightly News, The 11th Hour with Brian Williams, and more. Through Megaphone, NBC News will also increase its podcasting presence in the coming weeks with the launch of several new original shows.

Among the advanced features available to NBC News are Megaphone’s enterprise-level podcast hosting, publishing, dynamic ad insertion, campaign management, forecasting, and analytics tools. In particular, NBC News will benefit from the Megaphone team’s deep experience in podcasting, and the platform’s emphasis on time-saving workflows, precision ad operations and forecasting tools, and revenue growth.

NBC News will also use Megaphone Targeted Marketplace (MTM) to deliver more tailored ads to its podcast listeners and help monetize more of its podcast inventory. Powered by data from Nielsen, MTM is podcasting’s first and most advanced audience-targeting network, allowing brand advertisers to reach over 60,000 audience segments based on a listener’s demographic profile, interests, purchase intent, and more.
