The John Dredge Nothing To Do With Anything Show is back

Press Release ·

Comedy writer and performer John Dredge is proud to announce that the sixth series of The John Dredge Nothing To Do With Anything Show, his absurdist podcast, will be available to stream and download courtesy of British Comedy Guide from 6pm UK time each Monday from May 20th. An expanded radio version of the series is set for broadcast on Resonance FM later in the year.

The acclaimed show returns with six all-new half-hour episodes featuring a mix of regular and new items and characters, intertwined with surreal one-off sketches and spoofs, and seasoned with a liberal sprinkling of strange sound effects.

Appearing alongside John is a large ensemble cast including Greg Haiste (Fawlty Towers: The Play, This England), Anil Desai (Sex Education, The Gold), Katy Slater (The Milligan Papers), the show’s ‘Voice of Sanity’ Max Dowler, and its co-writer/producer Richard Cray.

Other returning cohorts include James Shakeshaft (The Loremen podcast), Paul Creasy (of Next Level Sketch Comedy) and Miles Eady, along with new signings Victor Hampson, Victoria Dry, Georgina Waring and Patrick O’Halloran.

And rounding off the team is Brian Luff of Sowerby & Luff and the pioneering independent mid-Noughties podcast Comedy 365, who was responsible for bringing many of the core team together in the first place. So if you want to blame anyone, blame him.

John has this to say: “Our new series has been carefully constructed from the original blueprints to give you not only something to listen to and laugh at, but also something to use for other things that podcasts are used for.” As usual, we don’t know what he’s on about.

“We’ve really pushed the boat out with this series,” adds producer Richard Cray, “so much so that I think we may have strayed into international waters.”
