CitizenRacecar's (Podcast About) Making Better Podcasts

Press Release · New York, NY, USA ·

CitizenRacecar, an award winning branded podcast agency, announces the launch of its own podcast series, (A Podcast About) Making Better Podcasts. Hosted by their Founder & Principal David Hoffman, the show offers an immersive and unpredictable journey into the art and science of audio storytelling.

“The podcast production industry—especially the world of branded podcasting, where we work—has become very closed off in its thinking”, says Hoffman, who has led CitizenRacecar since its founding in 2012. “There is a sense that a podcast has to be an interview show, it has to be optimized for short video, it has to conform to a very narrow set of conventions when it comes to format and style. Nothing could be further from the truth! Longform audio is tremendously versatile. We always want to lead from the front, and this show is both an educational series about the unique power of the format we love and a demonstration of some of the ways to access that power.”

(A Podcast About) Making Better Podcasts explores the fundamental concepts of audio production in a playful, immersive style that includes interviews, documentary segments, soundscapes, original music, and even scripted fiction. The first three episodes of the series, “Format”, “Narrative”, and “Segments, Bits, and Callbacks” are now available at podcast.citizenracecar.com and on all major podcast platforms. New episodes are planned for monthly release through the end of the year.
