Podcasthon Reaches 1,000 Registrations: A Global Milestone in Podcasting for Charity!

Press Release · Montreal, QC, Canada ·

The Podcasthon initiative is thrilled to announce a major milestone: over 1,000 podcasts from across the globe have registered to participate in the 2025 edition.

This unprecedented achievement marks a new era in charitable podcasting, uniting podcasters worldwide to amplify the voices of hundreds of charities during one incredible week in March 2025.

Key data

  • 61,5% of registered podcasts are English-speaking, participating for the first time in this event. Over 300 of these are ranked within the top 10% of podcasts with the largest audience (source: ListenNotes), including 36 in the Top 1%.
  • More than 1,000 podcasts from 32 different countries are taking part!
  • Usa contributes the largest contingent of podcasts: 337, followed by France with 333 (3rd Edition of Podcasthon for France). UK complete the podium with 120 podcasters registered.
  • Other notable contributions come from Canada (80), Australia (37), Belgium (18), South Africa (15), and more.

13 countries are for the moment symbolically represented by a single podcast, including Norway, Malaysia, Jamaica, Japan, and Portugal.

The concept

Founded in 2023, Podcasthon has quickly grown from a French initiative involving 300 podcasts to a truly global movement, in two years. This year’s milestone highlights the growing momentum and shared commitment among podcasters to use their platforms for social good. New projections suggest that 1,500+ podcasters are expected to come together in mid-March 2025 for Podcasthon, with 100 days remaining until the event.

Each participating podcast will dedicate an episode to a charity of their choice, sharing compelling stories and fostering meaningful connections with their listeners.

“This milestone is not just a number; it’s a testament to the power of collective action in the podcasting community,” said Jérémie Mani, co-founder of Podcasthon. “Each registration represents a commitment to making a difference, to leveraging the intimacy and authenticity of podcasts to drive awareness for important causes,” adds Yves Delnatte, other co-founder.

The upcoming Podcasthon week, scheduled for March 15-21, 2025, promises to be a global celebration of generosity, storytelling, and impact. With major partners like Acast, Ausha, Apple Podcasts, and Spotify supporting the initiative, Podcasthon continues to grow its reach and influence in the podcasting and nonprofit sectors.
