editaudio and The Qube have partnered to present Rebound Revolution, a new weekly podcast exploring timely on and off-court intersections of the WNBA, hosted by lifelong WNBA fan and podcaster Dr. Money McEachern.
Launching May 25, 2023, the first season will explore a range of topics within the world of women’s basketball, from pay equity and sponsorships to queerness, social justice and league history, among other subjects. Guests include WNBA Hall of Fame inductee Sue Wicks, Connecticut Sun player DeWanna Bonner, celebrity stylist Courtney Mays, Chicago Sun-Times reporter Anne Costabile and journalist Frankie De La Cretaz, among others.
“Anna [DeShawn] and I are both big basketball fans, and knew we wanted to create a show that would be a fun, accessible guide for anyone new to the WNBA,” said Steph Colbourn, CEO and founder of editaudio. “Dr. Money brings so much life to each episode, and we’re excited to make more people aware of how great the WNBA is.”
“The world of sports needs this podcast,” said Anna DeShawn, CEO and Co-founder of The Qube. “We saw the lack of coverage available for queer audiences during Brittney Griner’s wrongful detainment. Queer women love basketball and we deserve a podcast that speaks to us and our lived experiences.”
In addition to interviews with guests, each episode will include rotating segments that highlight individual teams, spotlight players who deserve recognition, recap the best style in the league and the must-know terminology for any new basketball fans.
