New York NY, USA—Ride Home Media, the daily news podcast company, today announced $1 million in seed funding from Tiny Capital and the debut of its third daily news podcast, the Celeb News Ride Home.

The capital will support Ride Home Media’s plans to launch a variety of daily news podcasts for listening during the evening commute. The company currently publishes three podcasts: the Techmeme Ride Home, Silicon Valley’s daily tech news podcast of record; the Election Ride Home, reporting every day on developments in the 2020 U.S. elections; and, launching today, the Celeb News Ride Home, a daily briefing from the world of celebrities and influencers. Additional podcasts will launch in the coming months.

Brian McCullough, co-founder and CEO at Ride Home Media, said:

“We believe that we can create a whole slate of compelling here’s-what-you-missed daily podcasts in any vertical you can imagine. We’re excited to use this round to expand into dozens of topics. All interested creative folks: get in touch! We want to do a Ride Home for almost anything.”

Ride Home Media joins existing podcast investments in Tiny Capital’s portfolio including top podcast player Castro, podcast growth agency DoubleUp, and listener-supported podcasting platform Supercast.

Andrew Wilkinson, Managing Partner at Tiny Capital, explained:

“There are a thousand interesting niches where people are forced to hand-curate their media lives to stay informed: following folks on Twitter and Instagram, reading blogs and subreddits, YouTube channels and spending hours anxiety scrolling. Podcasting is an amazing format to anoint professional catch-me-uppers to serve not only as trusted authorities in a given space, but also as friendly daily voices to keep you up-to-date on the topics you’re passionate about.”

Ride Home Media’s podcasts are available on all major podcast platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, and Castro.
