New York NY, USA—Simplecast debuts its all-new podcast distribution and analytics platform to give creators the tools they need to thrive in the exploding audio landscape. The company has also raised a $5 million Series A to continue investing in its platform.

When serious creators have serious tools and data, they can invest in their content and expand their audience. This is how creative markets flourish. Podcasting is evolving from an early adopter-driven medium to a global movement, driven by a small group of companies rapidly building tools for creators to thrive.

Leading the way, today Simplecast is launching its new platform, which provides podcasters with:

• A best-in-class set of discovery tools, from cutting-edge web players to Recast®, which empowers creators and their listeners to easily clip and share customized audiograms of their favorite podcast on social media.

• Extensive and granular analytics that enable creators and advertisers to better understand their listeners, with all data soon-to-be Certified by the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB).

• One-click, multi-platform distribution to Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever your audience listens.

• Custom hosted podcast websites, robust team management and the most advanced API in the industry, along with a number of other features.

In the last year, as one of Apple’s select Podcast Partners, Simplecast has more than doubled its customer base and is accelerating its growth, with new creators joining the platform at a 15%+ week-over-week pace, now empowering thousands of podcasters— from independent creators launching their very first show to chart-topping podcasts from Dax Shepard, Facebook, Twitter, Nike, Politico, Shopify, Virgin, TechCrunch, and The Hollywood Reporter, along with institutions like University of Chicago and MIT— to grow their audience and make better content. Simplecast’s customers stream over a million hours of audio per day to their listeners and in 2018 Simplecast streamed more than 22 billion minutes of audio around the world. Simplecast also recently closed a $5 million Series A to rapidly invest in its platform.

“We’ve built the industry’s first platform for creators who are serious about growing their

audience and getting industry-first insights about their listeners,” said Brad Smith (@brad), Simplecast’s Founder and CEO. “Simplecast is drawing a line in the sand for what creators should expect from their platforms—and we only have more exciting things to come.” Smith is a serial entrepreneur who has dedicated his career to building tools to support creators across a range of creative fields.

Matt Davey, 1Password’s COO and host of their podcast Random But Memorable says, “Simplecast has made publishing a podcast entirely undaunting. I went from nothing to an

audience and knowing everything about them. Doesn’t hurt that it’s also as effortlessly hip as podcast publishing comes.”

From Nick Yulman, Producer and co-host of Kickstarter’s Just the Beginning podcast: “The folks at Simplecast have been great to work with. Their new platform is thoughtfully designed and easy to use.”

Simplecast plans begin at $15/month.
