Walter Isaacson’s New Podcast, The Builders, Launches With Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, Fei-Fei Li, Dario and Daniela Amodei
The science and tech media company Kaleidoscope today announced the launch of The Builders with Walter Isaacson, a new podcast featuring in-depth conversations with some of the most consequential figures in AI and technology. Debuting today, the series includes conversations with Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, Fei-Fei Li, Dario and Daniela Amodei, Alex Karp, Palmer Luckey and other leading entrepreneurs, scientists, and technologists. The show is produced in partnership with Ramp, and distributed by iHeartPodcasts, the No. 1 podcast publisher globally according to Podtrac.
In each episode, Isaacson examines the ideas, ambitions, and decisions behind the AI revolution, from its impact on jobs and misinformation to the possibility of superintelligent machines. At the heart of the series are larger questions: What does it mean to build technology with the power to reshape society? And who gets to decide where it takes us?
Walter Isaacson’s definitive biographies have taken readers inside the minds of some of history’s most influential figures, from Leonardo da Vinci and Albert Einstein to Steve Jobs and Elon Musk. Now, with The Builders, he brings that same curiosity and journalistic rigour to podcasting, where conversation allows him to explore—and challenge in real time—the ideas of the visionaries building our future.
“AI is reshaping our world at breathtaking speed. But behind the technology, real human beings are making choices about what our future will look like, how we’ll work and live, and whose vision will shape what comes next,” said Isaacson.
“We started Kaleidoscope because the world’s most important ideas deserve to be told with awe, and wonder, while acknowledging the consequences,” said Kaleidoscope cofounders Oz Woloshyn and Mangesh Hattikudur. “We’re creating podcasts for an audience that doesn’t want to watch the future. They want a stake in it.”
The Builders follows Kaleidoscope’s previous collaboration with Isaacson, On Musk, a four-part series that reached No. 1 on the Apple Podcasts charts and featured Isaacson’s behind-the-scenes stories from his biography of Elon Musk.
New episodes of The Builders will be released weekly, featuring newsmaking guests from the worlds of technology and AI.
