If your podcast hosting company doesn’t give you free transcripts, here’s a free tool. Audio editor Hindenburg also produces them, and so does Eddy by Headliner, Descript and Alitu.

Two new additions to the Alitu editor include adding silences/pauses with just one click, to help give your words room to breathe... and simple clip exports for creating shareable audio segments. Hosting has been improved too, with transcripts in the feed (using the Podcasting 2.0 feature), and the addition of individual episode artwork.

Libsyn Studio, the company’s online recording tool, has suddenly closed. An email to customers said it was a “difficult decision”. No alternative tool was offered; we’d recommend Podcastle, and other alternatives include Alitu, Riverside and Descript.

Production tool Alitu now includes “magic filters” to automatically remove ums, ahs, filler words and long silences. The company says its the result of customer feedback.

Alitu has added video calling in its remote recording app. You can see your guest while recording, before sending it through to the Alitu audio cleanup and editor for production. (It’ll record the video soon, too).

Alitu has launched text-based editing, allowing podcasters to edit their audio as effortlessly as they would with text in a document. It's part of Alitu's full podcast workflow toolset.

Alitu has launched the Alitu ShowPlanner, an entirely AI-powered tool that auto-generates an entire podcast action plan for free. It also has a podcast name generator and an auto-generated script for the show’s initial trailer.

Alitu, the podcast maker, has added a call recorder to help interview guests. Recordings are popped directly into the episode builder for you to start editing.

Podcast maker Alitu is to release Call Recording as a limited beta this week. For use with remote interviews, at the end of the call each guest's audio is polished up through Alitu's standard audio cleanup process - including levelling and noise reduction - before being joined together into one single interview recording for you to edit and package further. It'll be in limited testing until late September.

Alitu, an app that helps assemble a podcast, has added noise reduction and improved audio levelling to its service. The service aims "to help podcasters spend less time on their audio, and more time creating great content".

Alitu, a product that "polishes, brands & publishes your podcast, automatically", has just released recording within the app. "You can upload your normal recording (from Skype/recorder/computer/etc) and then record a quick intro and outro right there inside Alitu to bookend it, if needed", Alitu's CEO, Colin Gray, tells us.

Dundee, UK based business podcast company, The Podcast Host, reveals plans to expand. "The firm, which specialises in podcasting for business, is developing its first app – named Alitu – which will revolutionise podcasting for individuals, SMEs and larger companies by automating the production and publishing process."
