Podcast production company Broccoli Productions is to close this week. The company, which lists six members of staff on its website, says its partnership with Sony Music Entertainment ended early - the joint venture was announced in October 2019. Sony made a number of redundancies at the end of last year; and closed an earlier JV with Three Uncanny Four in Jan 2022.

Former British Champion and the first Black woman to ever swim for Great Britain, Rebecca Achieng Ajulu-Bushell hosts the second series of the Physical Capital podcast which launches today. The show will focus on the human relationship with swimming, including how humans' ability to swim has been influenced by politics, geography and the unequal distribution of resources. In London, Broccoli Productions has announced the BUILD Grant, an incubation programme which will provide a grant of £1,000 ($1,250) each to five selected applicants looking to grow their podcasting careers.

The podcast Human Resources is to be turned into a book, with Profile Books acquiring the book rights to the show. The book of the Broccoli Productions podcast, which tells the true history of Britain's involvement in the transatlantic slave trade, will be out in Spring 2025, and will be written by the podcast's creators and writers.
