Quill and CoHost have announced some promotions - Alison Osborne has been promoted to Vice President of Marketing, after leading the marketing team since she was brought on in 2020. Stephanie Andrews has been appointed Vice President of Product and Product Operations, working on CoHost since its inception in 2022. And Brittany Nguyen now serves as the Director of Design, overseeing both the agency’s production and product design departments.

Libsyn is offering Sounder customers their first 6 months for free. The company joins Co-Host in offering migration. Sounder announced it was closing its podcast hosting for more than 5,000 shows.

Sounder has announced it is to close its podcast hosting platform, as it focuses on brand safety and contextual targeting. There are currently 5,425 podcasts hosted on Sounder, according to the Podcast Index. The company is moving "many of our largest creators" to Spreaker; Co-host is offering 6 months free (go here).

Spotify released a Fan Study for podcast creators. Fans who "follow" (aka subscribe to) your podcast will listen to 4x the number of episodes of those who don't, says the data; and episode completion rate varies from genre to genre, with true crime and fiction podcasts having the highest completion rates (at about 87%), while tech shows have one of the lowest (about 72%). Also in new research, The State of Branded Podcasts 2022 Report was released by CoHost, a podcast hosting company. Two-thirds of branded podcasts post every week, says that data.
