Podcast production company Paradiso Media has started bankruptcy proceedings in a French court. The company was founded in June 2019, and acquired competitor Binge Audio in May 2023: at the time it had 170 shows and 50 employees, based in Paris, Los Angeles and New York. Paradiso raised $5.9mn in investment in Sept 2021. We understand that Binge Audio, still a separate company, continues its operations.

Conference Call is new today from Paradiso Media and Realm. A star-studded parody scripted audio drama, it stars Emma Roberts (“Scream Queens”) as an investigative journalist who explores a failed business partnership and the resulting legal spat. The show is made up of recordings of video conference calls between entrepreneurs, in the style of a radio documentary.

In France, Paradiso Media has acquired Binge Audio, one of France's biggest podcast publishers. The combined company will have 50 employees in Paris, Los Angeles and New York, and more than 170 shows.

New from Paradiso Media, Seventeen features Laura Leigh Abby's diary from when she was 17; an era before social media and smartphones, an an era with inherent and often unwitting misogyny. The show explores how a generation of would-be feminists were influenced by the mixed signals of pop culture, and launches today.

Paradiso Media, a French podcast production company, has received a series A funding round. Variety suggests the funding was $5.9m. The company launched a show on Spotify Greenroom yesterday.
