    Equipment manufacturer RØDE has launched a number of new products at NAB 2024, which is taking place in Las Vegas currently. The Interview Pro microphone is a handheld wireless microphone with on-board recording; the company also announced an iPhone filming mount and magnetic microphone holder for iPhone.

    Christmas comes early part 1: In October, RØDE launched a games division, including streaming software Unify. Costing $69 a year, it was given away for $1 at the end of November, but in an email sent to customers and seen by Podnews, the software is now free. It will only work with RØDE microphones from now on; but the company is to send a free XCM-50 microphone to every former subscriber. /ht Neal Veglio

    RØDE is virtually giving away its streaming software Unify. "A powerful virtual mixing solution that allows streamers and gamers to take full control of their audio, including routing up to four microphones and six virtual audio devices into one easy-to-use mixer, creating fully independent sub-mixes for every output, adding studio-quality processing to microphones, and much more" normally costs AUD $69 for twelve months, but the price is just $1 for the year until Nov 30.

    Audio equipment manufacturer RØDE has unveiled RØDE X, a streaming and gaming division. The company has three new products: virtual mixing software UNIFY, the XDM-100 dynamic USB-C microphone, and the XCM-50 condenser USB-C microphone.

    The RØDECaster Pro II will be launched in the next 24 hours. Unsually, units already shipped have been disabled until launch, which is 10am Sydney time tomorrow; or 7pm New York time tonight.

    RØDE is to release the RØDECaster Pro II, an updated mixer, according to a leak reported by Michael Sterling's Sterling Clear Audio. There's also an app planned for control of the sound pads. The product was listed on a New Zealand website for a short time; a full launch is likely within the next week.

    RØDE has launched its first ever set of headphones. The NTH-100s have "been meticulously crafted to deliver exceptional sonic performance for critical listening, from monitoring to mixing to mastering," and have been built to wear for long periods of time. The Sydney-based company is well-known in the podcasting world for producing microphones and the RØDECaster mixer.

    The RØDECaster Pro has released firmware 2.1 which offers a set of new features. They've added a master bus compressor, broadcast-style level metering (in dBFS, not PPM nor short-term LUFS), and multitrack recording can now be achieved "post-fader". The companion app has also been improved, including direct uploads to podcast platforms and firmware updating straight from the app itself.

    Australian audio equipment company RØDE have published a free ambisonic sound library, and DAW plugin. "Ambisonics is a 360° surround sound format that, unlike conventional stereo and surround sound, records the full directivity information for every soundwave that hits the microphone – including, crucially, height information. Once captured, ambisonic recordings can be manipulated in post-production to create any 360° surround soundscape desirable," says the company, which makes a suitable microphone.

    RØDE have unveiled an expansion to their Wireless Go range of microphones. The company have added white versions of their wireless microphones, a lightweight handheld holder, and a white set of lavalier microphones. They're especially built for video use.

    RØDE have announced new firmware for the RØDECaster Pro, the company's popular audio mixer. v2.1 beta, available at the bottom of this page, includes the ability to control individual processing parameters, enhanced metering, a new reverb effect, sound pad overdubbing and MP3 export. It also features an enhanced companion app. As a warning: it's an unsupported public beta, so only install it if you're cool with things going wrong occasionally.

    If you bought a RØDEcaster Pro between Nov 1 and 29 Feb, you can claim a free accessory pack from the company. There's a US$20 shipping/handling fee, but it includes a set of cables and a power pack so you can use it without access to a mains plug. Terms apply; you've got until the end of this month to claim.

    RØDE, the Australian podcast equipment manufacturer, is giving away $150,000 worth of prizes in a competition announced today. The global competition is free to enter, and includes prizes from a variety of sources including Dave Jackson's School of Podcasting. The website has more info.
