    TrueFans is now sharing listener activity (with permission) to the fediverse. Here’s ⁂ @sam@truefans.social and his activity - which you can subscribe to in tools like Mastodon and others. TrueFans has also announced that it is beginning work on iOS and Android apps.

    Podcasting 2.0 player TrueFans has made the process of “streaming sats” easier, avoiding the hassle of having to buy complex cryptocurrency on other services (which isn’t very easy in some countries). Now, you can just use your regular credit card to top up your balance in TrueFans, to help pay podcasters for the shows you like.

    TrueFans has now shared more than $10,000 with podcasters and artists. The web app uses Value 4 Value to share money directly from the listener to the creator.

    The Geek News Central Podcast team, including Todd Cochrane, are in Las Vegas this week to cover CES, the consumer electronics show. The podcast will include live coverage, which you'll spot in new podcast apps like Fountain and TrueFans.

    Listening app Podfans has rebranded to TrueFans. Founder and CEO Sam Sethi said on the Podnews Weekly Review podcast last week: “We do more than just straight podcasts. We were obviously looking at music. We're looking at books, video, and so, talking to several music artists, they said Podfans doesn't really say music to us and it's a bit narrow focused.”
