  • The success of Gimlet Media’s Homecoming TV adaptation may have shown the way forward for television adaptations of podcasts, says Firstpost.

  • Bossjock - a tool used by live podcasters on iOS devices - is now called Backpack Studio. The App Store blurb says “It mixes your show for you, so you can focus on being creative.”

  • Spreaker have released “evolution stats”, showing each episode’s listening stats for 30 days from release. “This gives a much clearer picture than your daily trending charts which don’t give an overview of your individual episode performance”, they say.

  • The New York Times has covered Patreon’s banning of some content creators, which we covered on 18 Dec, reporting that some patrons are leaving the service. (You can support Podnews directly if you’d rather).

  • Philip DeFranco, a YouTuber, has announced that he’s bringing back a monthly “Conversations With” podcast for 2019.

  • How important is sound for design? Amber Case posts a teaser for a new O’Reilly book, Designing with Sound.
