Audioburst launches on Android Auto and Bixby

• Audio search and discovery platform Audioburst has launched on Android Auto and the Samsung Bixby platforms. It’ll deliver tailored playlists, including podcasts, controlled by voice.

• Australian publisher Pacific has announced a slate of eight new podcasts, and signed a deal with Acast. Pacific will be the first Australian company to access Acast’s ad manager platform.

• Wondery plans to translate many of its podcasts as part of their global growth plan; they’re starting with their hit Dirty John.

• Parcast, now a part of Spotify, has launched Summer of 69, a compilation of some of the company’s podcasts organised around 1969's summer period.

• The Washington Post lanza un podcast en español - the Washington Post is to launch a Spanish-language podcast as well as a Spanish-language opinions section.

• Last year, Rupert Murdoch’s News UK halved the amount of podcasts it produced, says Digiday. The focus was one of individual scale, says Jimmy Buckland, who’s Managing Director of the company’s Wireless Studios podcast unit.

• Podcast planning and workflow tool HelloCast has updated its pricing plans, including a free option for newer podcasters. They’ve also launched two, forever-free, browser extensions: HelloClips, a research clipping tool for podcasters, and HelloProfiles, a handy Twitter clipping tool.

• It’s almost time for Podcast Movement 2019. The good folks at Cabana have written this primer for the event, including their pick of the monetisation sessions. Inexplicably absent: the podcast newsletter craze, and a look at podcasts in emerging markets. (wink)

• Podcast host Buzzsprout has written a guide to acoustic treatment for your home studio. They point out: “where you record and how you treat the space has more to do with high quality sound than what microphone you have”.
