Boston Globe works with WBUR; Spotify release UK podcast stats

Debuting today, a collaboration between the Boston Globe and WBUR: Season Ticket. It’s a daily podcast, released every afternoon. Interesting to see a collab between people who know how audio works and switched-on journalists.

The “ultimate list of podcasts hosted by asians” - if ever you wanted some proof of the diverse nature of podcasts, here’s a very long list.

Spotify release some research apparently showing that 61% of UK adults listen to podcasts regularly, with 21% listening once a week. The data’s not linked to from here, so there’s no definition of 'regular’. UK audio measurement company RAJAR reported in June/July a figure of 10% weekly.

The Betoota Advocate reports Podcast Listener Runs Out Of People To Tell About New Podcast He’s Been Listening To. “Recently, it has also been revealed that Reynolds plans to branch out from being merely a listener, and use his podcast knowledge to start his own. “There’s not really going to be a theme to it. Just me and my guest discussing different issues. Don’t want to limit myself with a theme, that way it can be anything.””

Opinion, a podcast platform, announces it is to close down on November 1st. Data will be deleted at that time. There is no RSS forwarding either, so you’ll need to do all that manually.

CNET removes a ten year-old podcast, “404”. Presumably the podcast’s homepage will just return a 404 in future. Confusing.
