  • Radionomy, a free online radio streaming provider, is to close on 1 January 2020, shuttering over 8,000 online radio stations. One tells us they’re not used very much anyway, but “once upon a time we displayed episode images throughout the app and emails but found that the consistency of the show image really helps people identify the show. Also, it means we can avoid writing out the name of the show, which saves valuable space in the app.”

  • An event: the Africa Podfest “Unconference on Podcasting 2” in Nairobi, Kenya, will be held on December 10. It’s free, and part of the lead-up to Africa Podfest next March.
