David Tennant launches new interview podcast

• Podbean, a podcast host, has unveiled audio recording and editing features in its app. It also offers background music and other enhancements - it’s for both iOS and Android.

• How can you get funding to do your podcast? Juleyka Lantigua Williams spoke at the Werk It conference about how to find grants to support your work, and how to apply for them.

• Omny Studio, the enterprise podcast host, has partnered with Headliner to offer “one-click access to create best-in-class podcast audiograms”, which help share podcasts in social media.

• Westwood One have appointed Cory Smith in the newly created role of VP, Digital Sales Marketing & Operations. He’ll be responsible for digital sales planning, ad sales marketing, audience development, and ad operations, focusing on podcasting.

• Ad Age notes the current fight for podcast dominance by Spotify and Pandora. We’d note that the article claims Castbox is the #1 podcast app; it also says Spotify has 170,000+ podcasts on its platform, while the US-only Pandora apparently has 100,000+ podcasts - Pandora’s official blog claimed “hundreds of podcasts with over 100,000 episodes” a month ago.

TNT has posted the trailer for Root of Evil, a a companion to TNT’s six-episode suspense drama I Am the Night. The podcast series premieres on February 13; we first reported it on 18 Dec.
