New comedy shows announced from Will Ferrell and iHeartMedia

“I could hardly believe it, when I heard the news today”. iHeartMedia and Will Ferrell have “told us all about the plans they’re makin’” for Big Money Players, their comedy podcast network. “From the look upon your face, I see it’s true”: the slate includes Michael Bolton’s Big Sexy Podcast.

Triton Digital have published their latest US Podcast Report. SiriusXM’s Stitcher has overtaken Entercom’s Cadence13 in the network ranker. For shows, the highest new entry is Stitcher’s WTF with Marc Maron, at #32. Downloads (for the top 15 networks) are up 3.4% since the last report. The report measures participating publishers only.

The BBC is now reaching a record global audience of 468m people. “The Global News Podcast remains the BBC’s most popular with audiences approaching 1m a week.” (It’s in Google Podcasts, using Blubrry’s PodcastMirror service; however most of the BBC’s output is blocked from Google’s app.)
