Sheletta Brundidge has been awarded the prestigious Board of Governors’ Regional Emmy® Award for the Upper Midwest. Brundidge is “boss lady” at SHElettaMakesMeLaugh, and won the award for her comprehensive coverage of Black Entrepreneurs Day at the Capitol.

A new USB audio interface has been announced, the RM1 from DHD Audio, ready for IBC in Amsterdam (Hall 8.B52). The sleek-looking tool includes EQ and auto-level; is controllable through a mixer interface; and has Bluetooth connections too. In the UK, Unlocked has announced Amplify, a podcast incubator to help support the next generation of podcast creators. It’s run by talent management company The Partnership Group, and aims to support the next generation of creators who have the potential to become full time podcasters - offering a year’s support and resources.

Sport Social has announced an exclusive partnership with football podcast Undr The Cosh. The show is regularly in the top ten in the country.

We were excited to see The News Quiz, part of the BBC’s Friday Night Comedy podcast, publishing immediately after transmission at the end of last week. The show had been subject to a 30-day windowing trial for the past 18 months, with the newest episodes only available on BBC Sounds. The bad news: that was a mistake, we’re told. The good news: the show now only has a 7-day window.

IPv6 is the future of how our phones and devices connect to the internet - but, says Podscribe’s Pete Birsinger, IPv6 has a massive effect on attribution technologies: reducing results by up to around 50% for some campaigns. The company can correctly model for the differences, he says.

In the Podcasting 2.0 podcast this week, Dave Jones briefly discusses video podcasting, and how the alternateEnclosure and HLS streams are really the best way to support them. HLS streams can be of variable bitrate to deal with network conditions and are significantly cheaper for podcast hosting companies than serving one big 4K video file.
