  • Poynter shares ideas of what Apple’s new stats could mean for discovery - assuming Apple opens up the data. They’re great ideas. Not sure Apple nor many podcast makers want this data to be quite as visible as these ideas would need. (That said, people like Omny Studio or Libsyn could do this.)

  • Midroll announce that the anonymous TED podcast “Sincerely, x” - previously an Audible exclusive - will be generally available on July 20 (ad-supported).

  • Interview (on a podcast) with Ira Glass, produced by Maximum Fun in partnership with Columbia Journalism Review. It’s a bit meta - in this interview he explains how he, um, interviews.

  • Interview with acast. “More than 50 million monthly listens to more than 1,000 shows around the world”.

  • On The Media’s Bob Garfield has launched a podcast - exclusive on Audible Channels. Here’s a review, but also some detail about how the Audible Channels experience works. Amazon’s speed? “Kind of glacial.” And that’s from a man who works at NPR.
