Podbean launches podcast ad platform

Podcast host Podbean have launched PodAds, a programmatic ads platform which the company likens to AdSense for podcasts. Podcasters hosting with Podbean can opt-in for free. Advertisers are promised a simple three-step process. (Podbean has over 160,000 podcasts listed).

Digiday reports on what they call the slow steps the podcast industry is making to fully adopt a measurement standard. Wondery claims in the article that it’ll be the first to fully adopt the IAB standard, including a 24-hour measurement window.

BE Media have posted a branded podcast case study for Loop11, a UX company. “True North is a fortnightly narrative podcast, highly edited and curated, like an ABC or NPR audio documentary. Ben spends up to 40 to 60 hours preparing, recording, editing and assembling each episode.”

Finally: the US-based WIRED magazine says that some podcasts are 'accent-riddled’, gets the words 'dialect’ and 'accent’ confused, weirdly claims Adnan Syed’s American-Pakistani accent is similar to that of Norwegian Marit Higraf, and apparently 'Oohwdible’ is how you pronounce Audible with an 'aloof’ British accent. It really isn’t.
