Data: Podcast advertising continues to increase quarter-on-quarter in the US - up 2.6% - according to Magellan AI, which has released the company’s Q3/22 Podcast Advertising Benchmark Report. The top ten podcast advertisers spent $75m: up 6% since last quarter. True crime shows carried the most ads; overall ad time is slightly down.

Data: In New Zealand, 79% of media agencies have used podcast advertising in the last twelve months, growing significantly from 60% in 2021. NZ media buyers are buying more podcast advertising than those in Australia, according to a study by IAB NZ.

Audible and Content is Queen have announced the return of a micro-grants programme for UK podcasters. This year, winning podcasters will be awarded £2,500 or £5,000 as a contribution to their project.
