Younger listeners: podcasts vs radio

When listening to ad-supported audio, Americans are spending more than three times longer with the radio than with podcasts, according to “The Record”, new data from Nielsen and Edison Research. However, for younger listeners (18-34), time spent with podcasts and radio are nearly equal, at 37% vs 45%.

Only 12% of people in India are listening to podcasts, says new research from UNPAC Research and Ideabrew Studios. The study highlights the growth opportunity in the country: 78% of existing podcast consumers only discovered podcasts less than a year ago.

In Dec 2021, the National Association for the Deaf took SiriusXM to court for failing to provide transcripts. Lawyers on each side have argued ever since; and it shows no sign of being settled any time soon: the ruling is now expected after May 2025, according to court papers filed yesterday.
