Podchaser launches Pro service for marketers

• Podchaser Pro has been launched. The service offers estimated reach, demographics and social figures for podcasts, as well as contacts; it’s meant to help advertisers and PR people discover new shows. In case you’re interested, this is our page on the service.

• MediaMonitors has unveiled the results of its latest survey of US podcast listening. Undertaken in the last two weeks of September, it shows The Joe Rogan Experience as the most listened-to podcast, with new entries at #9 for The Michelle Obama Podcast and at #13, iHeartRadio’s Paper Ghosts. Michelle Obama’s podcast was exclusive to Spotify during the survey period. Media Monitors, which is owned by iHeartRadio, also claims iHeartRadio is the #1 podcast publisher - based on the number of shows in the top 25 200.

• Audible has added “100,000 free podcasts” to their app, says The Verge. This seems a geographic rollout - we don’t see them in the Audible app in Australia - yet, anyway. (Are we there? )

• Exclusive: The CuriousCast podcast network in Canada has partnered with Podcast Radio in the UK to bring new shows to listeners to the radio station. Among the podcasts to be featured will be Crime Beat, Dark Poutine, and The Ongoing History of New Music. The shows join Podnews, which broadcasts podcast updates every day on the station.

• Placements·io has signed with Megaphone to integrate with the company. The release says that Megaphone will work with Placements·io to streamline the process of buying and selling podcast advertising inventory.

• TWiT has announced they’re to test Podsights for attribution data.

• iVoox has expanded its catalog of iVoox Originals - exclusive, free podcasts - to “more than 129”.

• A new podcast service has launched. BrandStoryCasting is aimed at business podcasters, and offers a private web-based studio, pre- and post-production , and hosting.
