Podchaser opens up the Social Feed

Podchaser is opening early access signups today to an upcoming feature, called a “Social Feed”. This gives a social timeline that features guest appearances, reviews, new releases and more data from Podchaser’s unique database. You can sign up to the beta here (and follow Podnews here).

Spotify is apparently promoting Anchor within its app - a “Create a Podcast” button is appearing at the top of the podcasts section for some users.

How long should a podcast be? Fred Jacobs says size doesn’t matter: “Great content knows no bounds, limits, or lengths.” Our view? A podcast should be as long as it needs to be: but not a second longer.

Peru: 20% of people listen to podcasts in the country. Radio has 11% of ad revenue in Peru, writes Mario Santillana from X Peru; but that money may increasingly go to podcasting.

Singapore: local podcasts are on the rise in the island city, according to the Straits Times ($). Of note: the Malay podcast OKLETSGO is highlighted as “#1 on Spotify”, and it doesn’t appear to exist on Apple Podcasts at all.
