RADIO.COM for sale

• The former domain-name of Entercom’s live radio and podcast app, RADIO·COM, is being sold by auction for $2.5m. Entercom is now “Audacy”, and that’s been the name of the company’s app since 2021. The auction closes on 28 March.

• Dubb is a new service promising to “generate a marketing kit for your podcast in minutes”.

• If you’re using the open podcast analytics platform OP3, John Spurlock is offering “top secret links” for shows using it. We have one. It’s very exciting.

• Podcast hosting company Disctopia now supports video podcasts.

• We covered it back in 2019, but Fourble is a nice service that makes possibly-naughty MP3 files on the internet into podcasts. /ht Evo Terra

• PodcastOne is to become a separate company from its owner LiveOne on Jan 16. There is more detail in the filing (which is a good positive read about podcasting in general, including lots of market data). They should have the symbol NASDAQ:PODC.

Exclusive: 911 Podcasts is to move into unscripted audio series. The new podcast Unscripted with Adam Murciano will dive into the careers of the actors who have performed on the company’s podcasts, and learn what it takes to make it as a voice actor. It launches on Monday, with early access on the company’s Apple Podcasts channel.

Funny Old World calls itself an “edutaining easy-listening podcast about all things eco”, and has a mission “to engage people with the WHY it matters and the how and what to do when it comes to sustainability and tackling the climate emergency — but in simple terms, with a little laughter along the way.” One recent episode asks if the media is covering the climate emergency well enough to allow us to tackle it- or whether the climate crisis is also an information crisis.

Podcast producer David Rosen releases a new album of instrumental music today, called More Content (YouTube Music|Spotify). In the Piecing It Together Podcast today - an album length commentary track featuring the songs from the new album, with Rosen recounting the stories behind the music.

On day 310 of the Russian invasion, Fighting For Ukraine, hosted by Ukrainian journalist Yuriy Matsarsky from the front lines of the war in Ukraine, has hit 100,000 downloads for his podcast. “I never thought the war would last this long or that I would survive. I am grateful for the support of our fight to protect our country. We will keep fighting until the victory day”, he says. There’s a GoFundMe to help his family, who are now refugees in another European country.
